The doctor came around this morning tho and they did blood works on her and were happy with what they saw. They are still going to release us as outpatients in Edmonton today and have us come back Monday afternoon for clinic to do a check up before releasing us home. They are only going to discharge her with Tylenol tho and nothing stronger...says if she needs more then that she needs to remain in hospital then... :( She is wanting to tough it out so she can get out of here! She isn't eating this morning either and the pain is more then it was yesterday and the Tylenol they have given her hasn't been helping. They said to bring her back to the ER if she has more issues with pain or another episode like last night. I'm hoping there isn't tho...that was scary! I have to rig her bed up as well to keep her in a nearly 90 degree sitting position to sleep for awhile now too to help prevent that from all happening again. I'm really hoping things go well from here on out tho...
In 6 weeks we will be back in Edmonton for them to do the same procedure to check to see if it worked fully, and remove the drain if it did work. If it didn't they'll try again. Depending on what is wrong, if it's scar tissue that has built up and caused the duct to narrow more, then that will no longer be an option, and they will have to book her in for the big surgery. So all this may have just been a delay on that surgery and she will need it in the end regardless. But if we can avoid it and all it's risks, we have to try all those options first :) There are risks with the drain in as well, and Feeny will be restricted in what she can and can't do for the next 6 weeks, to prevent incidents of her drainage tube being caught and yanked out causing her to need to be put under again, back in Edmonton to either reinsert another or fix this one. It has been stitched into her skin to help prevent that from happening easily though. So all in all, things have worked out well, much to ours and all the doctors surprise! Leave it to Feeny to do the opposite of what they expect! Always! lol
