This afternoon had been a bit rough for Feeny... She didn't eat much for lunch which immediately set off alarms for me... And then a couple hours after for an hour she had extreme nausea and spent some time cuddling a bucket...her temperature is a bit elevated, low fever grade all day or just below, but not worrisome yet. Though I suspect the antibiotics are keeping anything serious from flaring full force.
She had done so well up to this point... And all we're doing is waiting on culture results as to when we can be released and if further IV treatment is needed.... Hopefully this doesn't set us back more...
She once again didn't eat as much for dinner...was actually full before she finished her first meal...and didn't even have snacks afterwards never mind her usual second meal I have to buy her to fill her up!
I finally managed to wrangle her into a shower this evening as well....but we had to unhook her from the IV...of course we lost the IV the whole hour it was out and had to insert a new one... :( We were lucky though that one had stayed in a few days and was looking sore and red so it was on it's way to being taken out anyways. We got the next one in on the first try too! rare occurance as well! lol
She didn't end up asleep until close to midnight tonight though...she was soooo hyper! almost scarily so...with still having the elevated body temp.... Makes me nervous, lol Not sure what the doctors will have to say about her temperature changes today and brief bout of nausea ....we are still waiting on results to come in so we know if we are continuing IV treatments, or stopping them and continuing with oral antibiotics and going home soon or not.
At least she got to enjoy a fun evening activity they had in hospital; it was a kids Home Depot DIY projects :) Feeny loved it! She ended up making a window bird feeder and a jewelry organizer! AND no thumbs were crushed with the use of a hammer shockingly enough! haha
