Anyways, we did get home from Edmonton! Came home Sunday afternoon :)
On Saturday while we were still in Edmonton we made the trip up to Mistyglen Kennels again to visit. This time Feeny and myself got a real treat, we were allowed to help feed the 15, 2 week old Irish wolfhound puppies with bottles!!! They were still huge at 2 weeks, with some just starting to open their eyes :) Turns out the whole bottle feeding thing takes practice to master though with pups that big! LOL Feeny of course fell in love with one of them! She saw the pup she named last time as well, Miss Daisy, who has grown alot and is soooo sweet and gentle like her name :) She of course saw her Quinn, her favorite wolfhound there! He actually greeted us as we pulled in, and when I rolled my window down, he could stick his head right it without lifting it to do so!! Feeny was ecstatic over that and being able to get kisses in the car from him! lol
She was also spoiled and was able to not only touch and hug a foal that was born just that morning, BUT to name it as well! His name is now Cooper :) She had a blast out there, and as usual we well overstayed our welcome I'm sure! LOL Knowing she was going to get to see the wolfhounds again when we were in Edmonton seemed to help her handle being up in hospital with pain again though. It gave her something exciting to look forward to and enjoy after it all :) She's excited to see them again in 6 weeks when she goes back to Edmonton for a new drain to be inserted! lol
I'm thrilled to see her healing so well this time around and bouncing back to her normal self so much faster :) She's been so much happier since being home too! She'll be going back to school Thursday this week :) And life can normalize a bit again until the next procedure. Part of me wishes they had just done the big surgery and we'd be done with all this by now...IF it all went well of course. But The risks were high and dangerous.....logically I know that. Just so hard on us both with these constant trips up to Edmonton or unexpected hospitalizations as a result of infection from the tube to Calgary, creating so much chaos in our lives with every 2 week hospitalizations the last few months. We are so lucky the community stepped up to help us though when we needed it! There is no way I could have done any of this without all the help we've been given! Thank you to everyone who has helped make it possible for me to help care for Feeny through all this!
