Sorry for such a delayed update! Things have been busy getting back to work, Feeny back to school, and planning and organizing her birthday party this coming Saturday!
Phoenix went back to school yesterday for the first time, and today was her second day and she managed to pull full days without any issues, or even any extreme tiredness that she was suffering the few days before. She's still had bouts of nausea as well, and I'm unsure what's causing it. A lot occurs in the car now. I'm wondering since the drain goes into her intestines if the movement for some reason now is somehow causing the nausea. It wasn't like that before...and it only started while she was in hospital in Calgary with the most recent infection.
Tonight the drain site started bleeding, there was unusual redness around it and when I went to flush the drain, bile started leaking out steadily, something it hadn't done since the beginning. It's been 5 weeks and the site still hasn't healed :( In a week and a half we will be back in Edmonton to redo the procedure....and I doubt it will be healed in that time. I'm just hoping this isn't another issue that needs hospital treatment....2 more days till her birthday party...then we can deal with hospitals etc....I just want her to get to have her party! lol
Other then those few things though, she's done well being home, and is handling being at school well! She's happy to be back at school among her friends and resuming normal activities that she enjoys :) She even had a chance to stop in at Baps yesterday to cuddle some cats! And today joined in on some Street Safety Training with her dog, though it was cold, and she did tire easily often going to sit in the car for breaks and to warm up, she was happy to be able to be part of some of it :)
Thank you again to everyone for all the wonderful messages and words of support! As well as all the help and donations! I couldn't do this without everyone's help! It's made it possible for me to put her first, not work, and be there with her in hospital and give her my full attention and attend to her needs at home without forcing her early back to school so I can work, etc! None of this could have been possible and her needs and care made a priority without everyone's incredible help and generosity! Thank you so much!!!
