Feeny started doing much better by later afternoon and evening time :) She is eating normally for her, which means nonstop(you don't want to see the food bill! lol) as she kept asking to do since we got into a room! Lol! Drs said her bile duct is looking better, but not fixed, it still narrows. So they used a cutting balloon this time, and figure in 6 weeks we'll be back to do this all again, and possibly another 6 weeks after that as well... And it's not unheard of for them to have to do this repeatedly numerous times....more then 6-8 even....That was not welcome news to know every 6 weeks we'd be having to go to edmonton for this and her life is restricted while the drain remains in.
Feeny was quite upset she still had the drain tube (which goes in her chest thru her bile duct and into her intestines,)in which prevents her from doing alot of regular activities and causes continual pain each day with dressing changes and an allergy to tape and band aids not helping that, and her body tissues trying to reject the tube. She'll get through it all tho, she's been through far worse!
This evening she wanted to come with me to get our suitcase out of the car once they transferred us once again to another shared room, this one with a bathroom and tv tho! lol Apparently on the ward we are on wheelchairs aren't available....I'd have to go 4 floors down and outside to find one. I was going to leave her behind but she was insistent she could walk it, and usually there are wheelchairs in the parkade...so I let her....and not only did she walk to the parkade to our car, she walked back to the room and then downstairs to the cafeteria and book fair (of course!) and back up again! She did incredibly well considering what she just went through and how bad she was just a few hours before!
Doctors said if she continues like she has so far they will release us in the am as outpatients in edmonton :D and if she does well still afterwards we can go back to our home town sunday! If there's any concerns we are to stay until monday for clinic to check her out though. I'm hoping she does well and stays so! lol I'm going to see how she gets thru this night before I get too excited though....I've well learned over the years that she ALWAYS does the unexpected and causes some sort of crisis and delays! LOL
It will be nice to get out of here though...shared rooms suck lol. And it would seem I'm lucky enough to now have a wonderful head cold starting :( something if the doctors caught could get me booted out of here...and good luck to them doing so! lol I won't leave her side! So we need to get out asap so I can care for her and myself in a hotel until we can go home!
Hopefully tomorrow I'll have even better news to report, from a hotel room :D LOL Thank you to everyone for all the well wishes and support! It means alot to us, especially when she goes through so much and I'm powerless to help her! Thankfully she bounces back quickly with her indomitable spirit, but often I need those words of encouragement as much as her when I see her suffer so much! Thank you everyone for being there for us!
