Day 3 home; Feeny is doing well! She is still suffering from pain when changing the dressing and screams and cries if the drain tube is moved. But otherwise is fine with only minor pain and discomfort throughout the day :) Edmonton is concerned about it all still, is unsure why this is occurring, but cannot do anything unless it worsens and shows more symptoms to indicate what the issue could be. Since she is well except during those moments so far, we are just in the watch and wait mode. She's been sleeping upstairs in the daybed so she can sleep with the dogs, as this is the only piece of furniture they are allowed on! lol I can't imagine why or how she can be comfortable on there with them...but she is! Picture to follow! lol I prefer her upstairs as well so that I can hear her if something happens, like in the hospital, I can hear her easily at least. I've been so incredibly busy since we've been home...I'm kinda missing the isolation and lack of responsibilities in the hospital! lol I thought I managed to make a large dent in my to do list....until I wrote another one up tonight! lol
I'm stuck in the house Monday and Tuesday as well though. Apparently the pharmacy in the childrens hospital only ships through one way now; and I must be home to sign for it. So I need to take 2 days off in the future to wait for them to arrive, or drive to Calgary, still taking a day off work, plus fuel costs for the 5 hr round trip, to get her medications. Important medications that only Edmonton and Calgary Hospital pharmacy's can make, and if she is more then an hour late in taking her anti-rejection meds, opens her up to risk of rejection of her new liver. So frustrating... I used to be able to just grab it from IGA if I wasn't home when they came to drop it off.
Oh well....at least we'll have time those 2 days this time for her and I to go through the emails and reply to them, same with the regular mail ;) She's quite excited to be receiving letters in the mail! We even bought an album so she could place her cards and such in it :) Thank you to everyone for all the wonderful messages and incoming letters to Feeny! She's loved receiving them all and looks forward to reading more!
