So Feeny got up this morning to get ready for her ultrasound, and she is doing sooo much better! Her pain is nearly gone! Only some pinching sharp type pain in her chest under the drain area, if she fully extends her back straight or backwards. She's right back to normal today nearly though! It's so wonderful to see!! And such a relief! After how bad she was getting last night after we had capped the drain and how long it took to get relief again after uncapping it, I was starting to really worry! She was unable to yawn or take a deep breathe without gasping and folding over in pain crying, nevermind the pain from the cough and runny nose she still has from the lingering cold! I was really starting to wonder if she'd make it through the weekend without needing to take her to the ER for stronger pain meds and be taken to childrens. She couldn't even move on her own...it was getting scary :(
Thankfully Brooks was able to do the ultrasound and squeezed us in this morning for it. Just talked to Edmonton and they said the ultrasound looks fine. But Feeny's doing great now too finally, so I'm kinda not surprised! LOL They're unsure what could have caused any of this, several theo but are reluctant to immediately cap the drain again and cause issues right away. So we are leaving the drain open to continue draining until Monday. If she's done well over the weekend, I'll call Edmonton and we'll cap the drain. If she worsens before we cap it over the weekend, or after we cap it, we'll need to immediately go to Edmonton and have a collangeogram (sp) done to look into what may be wrong more closely.
My hope is we somehow unblocked one of the holes like they figured may be the issue, with all the flushing and draining we've done....would make sense as the bile that is coming out is far less, is a much lighter and thinner fluid, and no more of the horrible flaky material coming out plugging the outside tubes, making me sit there flicking and squeezing to try and get it moving again, never-mind what that stuff was doing on the inside tubes to her! It was filling up the bottom of the bag with tons of sediment, something I hadn't seen before, and her bile was nearly a dark brown in color and solid , not the clearer medium yellow it should be... but is now clearer and normal looking! Hopefully we dodge this one and all the interference of draining and flushing I was doing helped fix it! lol Fingers crossed when we cap again on Monday she stays well and doesn't immediately worsen like the last couple times!!
